The Land and Housing Research Institute (LHRI) is an affiliated research institute of the Land and Housing Corporation (LH) and is Korea’s leading research institute that focuses on issues chiefly related to land and housing.
Our primary mission is to conduct comprehensive research, to develop innovative theories and to create practical technologies. This mission is ultimately to help LH consistently fulfill its principal social responsibilities as a public corporation. Specifically, our duties include determining ways to stabilize the housing market for the people, to ameliorate residents’ quality of life, to pursue the balanced growth among regions, and to enhance the national competitiveness.
Our additional mission is to disseminate theories and technologies developed by our institute to related fields including urban planning and design, architecture, real estate policy, and so on to promote mutual progress. LHRI is thus working cooperatively with various other institutes and organizations to achieve these missions.
I strongly believe that outstanding researchers tirelessly working in the institute, pragmatic theories and technologies accumulated from various national R&D projects are precious assets to our institute as well as our society. LHRI will continually strive toward higher levels of excellence in the development theories and their workable applications.
